Annual Meeting of the Editorial Board of CDIS Review 2013

The meeting presented a number of constructive ideas how to contribute to the support of the Czech defence and security industry in 2013. Many topics that need to be supported and implemented to the maximum extent possible in 2013 were raised during the discussion. We will publish a more detailed account of the discussion soon. The prominent members of the Editorial Board and participants in the discussion included, for example, Senator Tomáš Kladívko, Deputy Antonín Seďa, Deputy Foreign Minister Tomáš Dub, Deputy Defence Minister Michael Hrbata – Chairman of the Editorial Board, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic Major General Miroslav Žižka, Director General of the Czech Fire and Rescue Service Colonel Drahoslav Ryba and his deputy, General Miloš Svoboda, Deputy President of the Czech Police Colonel Tomáš Kužel, as well as other representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Interior, Finance, and Industry and Trade. Leading representatives of the concerned associations, headed by the Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic, and top managers of the Czech defence and security industry were present in great numbers as well. General of the Army (ret.) Pavel Štefka (TATRA a.s.), Petr Novák (Retia) or Miloš Titz (ex-MP) also took part in the discussion. 

A friendly meeting with other distinguished defence community guests, among them First Deputy Defence Minister General of the Army (ret.) Vlastimil Picek, Deputy Military Attaché of the Russian Federation and others, followed. The event saw a ceremonial christening of the eighth issue of the Defence and Security Technologies Catalogue 2013 – 2014, as well as the traditional awarding of prizes to the best companies and individuals in the business.

Prestigious prizes - companies:

  1. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Company of the Year 2012” prize to AUDIOPRO s.r.o. for its excellent achievements in the field of special technologies. The prize was handed over to Dalibor Hronec, Business Director of the company.
  2. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Company of the Year 2012” prize to Pramacom HT spol. s r.o. for its excellent achievements in the field of development and implementation of multispectral fusion optical systems. The prize was handed over to Jiří Oulehla, Business Director of the company.
  3. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Company of the Year 2012” prize to OPTOKON, a.s. for its excellent achievements in the field of development and manufacture of special technologies based on optical fibres. The prize was handed over to Jiří Štefl, Chief Executive Officer of the company.
  4. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Company of the Year 2012” prize to INTV s.r.o. for its excellent achievements in the field of satellite communications. The prize was handed over to Petr Kokeš, Business Director of the company.
  5. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Company of the Year 2012” prize to EVPÚ Defence a.s. for its excellent achievements in the field of surveillance and security systems. The prize was handed over to Igor Valníček, Chief Executive Officer of the company.
  6. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Business Name of the Year 2012” prize to ERA a.s. and OMNIPOL a.s. for their excellent achievements in trade. The prize was handed over to Vladislav Hofman, Strategic Relations and Business Development Director of ERA a.s, and Jiří Řezáč, OMNIPOL´s Deputy CEO responsible for business development. 


Prestigious prizes – personalities:

  1. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Photograph of the Year 2012” prize to Zdeněk Burian for his photographs of ground forces technologies. 
  2. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Photograph of the Year 2012” prize to Antonín Fidranský (MU 4574 Přerov) for his photographs of aviation technologies. 
  3. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Tandem of the Year 2012” prize to Jaroslav Černý, Chief Executive Officer of SVOS Přelouč, and Štěpán Černý, Business Director of SVOS Přelouč, for excellent father-and-son intergenerational cooperation. 
  4. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Manager of the Year 2012” to Vladislav Hofman, former CEO of ERA a.s., for his excellent achievements in the field of business and management. 
  5. The CDIS Review Editorial Board awarded the prestigious “Personality of the Year 2012” prize to Radoslav Moravec, Chief Executive Officer of ZEVETA a.s. The award was handed over by Mr.  Jiří Králík, ex-goalie of the Czechoslovak national ice hockey team, 1985 World Ice Hockey Champion and owner of the “Personality of the Year” trademark and website.
